Oktoberfest Dishes - Courtesy of Food & Wine Magazine

October is here (already!) and guess what, it is time to celebrate Oktoberfest, that most famous of Bavarian celebrations. This multi-week festival is held each year from September to the first week of October in various towns and cities throughout Germany. Visitors are able to partake in traditional German fare and of course, free-flowing beer. Lots of it. "Food & Wine" magazine recently showcased some German dishes that you can try at home. You can be sure that there is plenty of German sausages (Würstl), sauerkraut, schnitzel and spaetzle dishes to choose from.
